A/C Air Scoop

In order to increase airflow to the HVAC unit, I added a small scoop to the inflow vents of the Hummer. The piece was fabricated from a single piece of 1/8" aluminium. The piece was formed on my bench vise and a single weld about 2" long was made to seal the upper left side of the scoop. I countersunk the inside of the scoop to fit over the existing rivets. About two years after the initial installation, slide my Hummer into a tree and the scoop came to rest on the tree trunk. The scoop was slightly dinged but saved the body from some major damage. I removed the scoop, made a quick repair and reinstalled the scoop. The scoop does increase the airflow to the HVAC while the Hummer is moving and improves the feeble air-conditioning ability of the earlier pre-96 Hummers.
